Oriana Masternak – skrzypce / violin

Skrzypaczka, kameralistka, profesor Akademii Muzycznej im. Krzysztofa Pendereckiego w Krakowie, doktor habilitowana sztuk muzycznych, organizatorka wydarzeń artystycznych. Wielokrotnie nagradzana interpretatorka i badaczka muzyki polskiej, zarówno tej zapomnianej, jak i najnowszej. Artystka regularnie koncertuje jako solistka i, przede wszystkim, jako kameralistka w Azji, obu Amerykach i większości krajów Europy, prezentując wszechstronny repertuar obejmujący arcydzieła wszystkich epok oraz prawykonania utworów jej dedykowanych. Jak podkreślają krytycy, jej grę cechuje „piękny dźwięk, niezwykle bogate barwy, nieskazitelna intonacja, naturalne frazowanie”. Dotychczas zagrała ponad 700 koncertów. Od 2014 roku Oriana Masternak współtworzy Messages Quartet – zespół specjalizujący się w wykonawstwie polskiej muzyki kameralnej. Zdobywczyni szeregu nagród na konkursach krajowych i międzynarodowych, m.in. w Bułgarii, Nowym Jorku, Wiedniu, Holandii i we Włoszech oraz w Krakowie i Łodzi. Wielokrotnie nominowana do najważniejszych nagród polskiego środowiska muzycznego (m.in. do Nagród Akademii Fonograficznej Fryderyk). W 2022 roku razem z Julią Kociuban i Messages Quartet otrzymała główną nagrodę II. Międzynarodowego Konkursu „Muzyczne Orły” w kategorii Zespół Kameralny, a rok później z kwartetem została nominowana do nagrody Koryfeusz Muzyki Polskiej w kategorii Osobowość Roku. W 2023 roku została odznaczona Odznaką Honorową „Zasłużony dla Kultury Polskiej”, która przyznawana jest osobom wyróżniającym się w tworzeniu, upowszechnianiu i ochronie kultury. W roku 2024 ponownie została laureatką konkursu „Muzyczne Orły”. Studiowała w Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie (dyplom z wyróżnieniem w klasie Prof. Romana Reinera), Koninklijk Conservatorium w Brukseli, European Chamber Music Academy, Yale School of Music oraz w Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst w Wiedniu. Oriana wielokrotnie nagrywała dla Polskiego Radia (m.in. w ramach cyklu „Miejscówka z Dwójką”) i telewizji. Jest stale obecna w mediach udzielając wywiadów dla Programu 2 Polskiego Radia, Radia Kraków, Radia Kraków Kultura, TV Kraków, TV Wrocław oraz innych tytułów prasowych. Posiada bogaty dorobek fonograficzny obejmujący ponad 15 albumów. W 2014 r. nakładem wydawnictwa Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie ukazała się debiutancka płyta artystki z utworami na skrzypce i fortepian Luciena Durosoira (przy fortepianie Sławomir Cierpik), zaś rok 2017 zaowocował albumem „Philipp Scharwenka. Music for violin and piano” wydanym nakładem wydawnictwa Acte Prealable (przy fortepianie Sławomir Cierpik). Oriana nagrywała także dla Wydawnictwa DUX – komplet Kwartetów smyczkowych S. Laksa w wykonaniu Messages Quartet oraz album „Messages”, SOLITON czy Wydawnictwa UMFC. W 2021 roku nakładem wydawnictwa DUX ukazały się dwa albumy: „Parallels” (przy fortepianie Justyna Danczowska) oraz nominowany do nagród Akademii Fonograficznej Fryderyk „Bacewicz/Tansman – Piano Quintets” (Julia Kociuban i Messages Quartet), a w roku 2023 album zawierający polskie kwintety klarnetowe (Piotr Lato i Messages Quartet). Oriana Masternak od 2024 r. pełni funkcję Kierownika Katedry Skrzypiec i Altówki w Akademii Muzycznej im. Krzysztofa Pendereckiego w Krakowie, gdzie prowadzi swoją klasę skrzypiec. Violinist, chamber musician, professor at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków, PhD of musical arts, organizer of artistic events. Award-winning interpreter and researcher of Polish music, both the forgotten and the newest. The artist regularly gives concerts as a soloist and, above all, as a chamber musician in Asia, both Americas and in Europe, presenting a versatile repertoire including masterpieces of all eras and premieres of works dedicated to her. As critics emphasize, her playing is characterized by „beautiful sound, extremely rich timbres, flawless intonation, natural phrasing”. She has played over 700 concerts so far. Since 2014, Oriana Masternak has been a member of the Messages Quartet – an ensemble specializing in the performance of Polish chamber music. Winner of a number of awards at national and international competitions, e.g. in Bulgaria, New York, Vienna, the Netherlands and Italy as well as in Kraków and Łódź. She has been nominated many times for the most important awards of the Polish music community (including the Phonographic Academy Awards “Fryderyk”). In 2022, together with Julia Kociuban and the Messages Quartet, she received the main prize of the 2nd International Competition „Musical Eagles” in the Chamber Ensemble category, and a year later, together with the quartet, she was nominated for the Coryphaeus of Polish Music award in the Personality of the Year category. In 2023, she was awarded the Honorary Badge „Meritorious for Polish Culture”, which is awarded to people who distinguish themselves in the creation, dissemination and protection of culture. In 2024, she was again a laureate of the „Musical Eagles” award. She studied at the Academy of Music in Kraków (diploma with distinction in the class of Prof. Roman Reiner), Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels, European Chamber Music Academy, Yale School of Music and Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. Oriana has recorded numerous times for Polish Radio (e.g. “Miejscówka z Dwójką”) and television. She is constantly present in the media, giving interviews for Polish Radio Program 2, Radio Kraków, Radio Kraków Kultura, TV Kraków, TV Wrocław and other press titles. She has a rich phonographic output of over 15 albums. In 2014, the Academy of Music in Kraków published her debut album with pieces for violin and piano by Lucien Durosoir (Sławomir Cierpik at the piano), while 2017 brought the album “Philipp Scharwenka. Music for violin and piano” published by Acte Prealable (Sławomir Cierpik at the piano). Oriana also recorded for DUX Publishing House – the complete String Quartets by S.
