Hyo Lee - fortepian / piano

Urodził się w 2007 roku w Seulu. W wieku 5 lat rozpoczął naukę gry na fortepianie i skrzypcach. W 2014 roku przeniósł się do Moskwy i najpierw jako skrzypek wstąpił do Moskiewskiej Centralnej Szkoły Muzycznej. Następnie od 2016 roku powrócił do nauki gry na fortepianie. Już sześć miesięcy później, w kwietniu 2017 roku, został laureatem IV międzynarodowego konkursu „Astana Piano Passion” w Kazachstanie, którego przewodniczącym jury był Piotr Paleczny. Ten konkurs zmotywował Hyo do poważniejszego studiowania gry na fortepianie. W kwietniu 2018 roku zdobył I nagrodę na fortepian i Grand Prix na skrzypce na Międzynarodowym Konkursie „Diament Muzyczny” w Moskwie, Rosja. W grudniu 2021 roku otrzymał III nagrodę na XII Międzynarodowym Konkursie „Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam” w Bydgoszczy. Miał wówczas 14 lat i był najmłodszym w historii laureatem tego konkursu. Hyo Lee występował na scenach m.in.: Yamaha-Hall w Moskiewskim Międzynarodowego Domu Muzyki, Salle Cortot i Bibliotece Polskiej w Paryżu. Wraz ze swoim bratem, Hyukiem Lee, prezentował programy na 2 fortepiany w Filharmonii Łódzkiej i Filharmonii Bałtyckiej w Gdańsku oraz na licznych festiwalach, m.in.: „Perła Baroku”, „Bieszczady bez granic”, „Muzyczne ogrody” w Studiu koncertowym Polskiego Radia im. W. Lutosławskiego w Warszawie oraz na koncercie w ramach Festiwalu „Muzyka w Opactwie” rejestrowanym przez TVP. 14 lutego 2024 roku zaprezentował się z bratem w duecie na 2 fortepiany w Filharmonii Narodowej w Warszawie. W grudniu 2023 roku pianista zdobył III nagrodę na Konkursie Chopinowskim „Animato” w Paryżu. Artysta rozwija własny świat muzyczny uczestnicząc w różnych kursach mistrzowskich na całym świecie m. in. w Letniej Akademii Uniwersytetu Muzyki i Sztuki w Wiedniu czy Międzynarodowych Kursach Mistrzowskich w Hamburgu, Akwizgranie i Letniej Akademii PyoengChang. Obecnie jest studentem l’École Normale de Musique w Paryżu w klasie prof. Mariana Rybickiego. Obok gry na fortepianie i na skrzypcach pasjonuje się szachami i bierze udział w wielu międzynarodowych turniejach szachowych.

He was born in 2007 in Seoul. At the age of 5, he began learning to play both the piano and violin. In 2014, he moved to Moscow and first entered the Moscow Central Music School as a violinist. Then, in 2016, he returned to learning to play the piano. Just six months later, in April 2017, he became a laureate of the 4th international competition „Astana Piano Passion” in Kazakhstan, the chairman of the jury of which was Piotr Paleczny. This competition motivated Hyo to study the piano more seriously. In April 2018, he won the 1st prize for piano and the Grand Prix for violin at the International Competition „Musical Diamond” in Moscow, Russia. In December 2021, he received the 3rd prize at the 12th International Competition „Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam” in Bydgoszcz. At that time, he was 14 years old and the youngest laureate in the history of this competition. Hyo Lee has performed on stages including Yamaha Hall in the Moscow International House of Music, Salle Cortot and the Polish Library in Paris. Together with his brother, Hyuk Lee, he presented programs for 2 pianos at the Łódź Philharmonic and the Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, as well as at numerous festivals, including: „Pearl of the Baroque”, „Bieszczady without Borders”, „Musical Gardens” at the W. Lutosławski Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw and at a concert as part of the „Music in the Abbey” Festival recorded by TVP. On February 14, 2024, he performed with his brother in a duet for 2 pianos at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw. In December 2023, the pianist won 3rd prize at the Chopin Competition „Animato” in Paris. The artist develops his own musical world by participating in various master classes around the world, including: the Summer Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna or the International Master Classes in Hamburg, Aachen and the PyoengChang Summer Academy. He is currently a student at l’École Normale de Musique in Paris in the class of Prof. Marian Rybicki. In addition to playing the piano and violin, he is passionate about chess and takes part in many international chess tournaments.
